Make your words matter
These online practical workshops introduce our work. Whether you want regular practice sessions or want to know more about our courses, these workshops show you how to make your writing stand out.

We look at the process of improving a example piece which is may be confusing and perhaps disordered.
Taking you through the editing steps, our aim is to produce writing which is coherent, cohesive and readable.

The majority of the time will be spent practicing; it's the best way! We look at any issues, how to correct and what changes need to be made.
What you will learn
In addition to producing grammatically correct sentences, we focus on:
  • sentence structure, composition and flow
  • selecting suitable vocabulary
  • creating readable text
  • eliminating the unnecessary
  • adding drama where and when required
  • producing a coherent, cohesive and reader-centric text
What you can expect
Your online mentor will take you through the writing process, from initial draft through to a polished result.

We encourage you to ask questions! Workshops are limited to six participants, so you will have plenty of opportunities.
We will see:
  • why sentences need changing or deleting
  • why some structures are better than others
  • which words work better and why
  • where we can break the rules, and why
  • practise: the best way to learn
